Avengers Number Teams MCU Phase 5

Kevin Feige Confirms The Avengers Don’t Exist In MCU Phase 4

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige comments on the state of the Avengers in the multiverse saga during the MCU presentation at D23 Expo.

Kevin Feige addressed the status of the avengers in the multiverse saga. The Marvel Studios boss appeared at D23 Expo to lead the MCU presentation. He talked about a series of upcoming projects, including revealing the main cast of the Love at first sight and more information on Captain America: New World Order. Feige also confirmed that Wanda Vision director Matt Shakman will direct the The Fantastic Four to restart.

That being said, Feige didn’t reveal anything new about AveIngers’ next two films: Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Feige announced that both films are set to premiere in 2025 and will serve as the culmination of the multiverse saga. He did not give further details about avengers 5 and 6 during D23 Expo, but indirectly, Feige confirmed the current status of the Avengers in the MCU.

While discussing the events of Captain America: New World OrderFeige (via The Direct) inadvertently revealed that the Avengers are disassembled, at least during the events of the film. The head of Marvel Studios says that when Sam Wilson finally wields the shield on the big screen, it will be in a world where Earth’s Mightiest Heroes don’t exist. Read Feige’s full quote below:

“You know, one thing about the Captain America movie is that there is currently a world without Avengers. Sam Wilson finds himself as Cap in a time when there is no Avengers organization.”

Since Marvel Studios’ storytelling isn’t usually in chronological order, it’s still unclear when exactly Captain America: New World Order lands in the official timeline. It is possible that the film takes place right after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier despite the fact that it comes out a few years after the Disney+ series. Be that as it may, it is interesting to note that after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, there has been no rush to ensure that Earth is always protected to prevent another disaster like the fall of Thanos. There are three founding Avengers left in the MCU who could spearhead this effort, but it seems after the Titan’s defeat, they’ve all decided to go their separate ways.

Luckily, while there won’t be an established team at the events of Captain America: New World Order, the film could lead to the reassembly of the Avengers team. Perhaps after realizing that Earth is once again in a vulnerable state, Sam takes it upon himself to reconnect with his fellow heroes and gather a new roster to defend the planet in case another invasion occurs. For what it’s worth, reassembling the Avengers is pretty much guaranteed thanks to Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. It will still be some time before it is revealed who the new officials are. avengers in the MCU now that its original leaders are gone.
